The earthquake happened at 9.18pm on Monday evening. The epicentre of the quake was recorded about 15km southeast from Donegal  town and 15km northeast of the town Ballyshannon. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 2.1. by the the Irish National Seismic Network. The network said the quake was strong enough for members of the public to feel it.
