Yesterday was quite the scorcher and you'll be glad to know that the fine weather is set to continue for the rest of the Bank Holiday Weekend.
While the country is still confined to a 5km radius as part of phase 1 of the government's easing of lockdown restrictions, we're still being treated to plenty of vitamin D and it seems this applied to one location slightly more than others yesterday.
Met Éireann has revealed the maximum temperatures recorded at its weather stations yesterday and the highest was found at Markree Castle in Co. Sligo, where the mercury reached 25.4 degrees. It seems that the west was the place to be locked down yesterday as all seven of the highest temperatures were recorded in Sligo, Mayo, Donegal and Galway before Casement Aerodrome in Dublin creeps in with a maximum temperature of 24.1.
