Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning as temperatures are set to hit zero degrees.
A yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway and Mayo from 6pm this evening, until 5am tomorrow, Wednesday morning.
Strong gusts are expected, particularly in coastal areas.
This week is set to be wet with temperatures expected to drop to zero degrees.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, will have a dry start with sunny spells before scattered showers begin, mainly along the coast.
Thursday is set for a wet and windy start with rain turning heavy at times along with fresh and strong gusty winds.
Friday will be breezy with sunny spells breaking through scattered showers, which may fall as sleet and possibly snow at times.
It will be a dull and mild start on Saturday before cloud and rain extends across the country.
Looking ahead to Mother's Day, a cool day with blustery showers is to be expected.
