Two counties in particular are about to have a blustery night.
Earlier today
we reported that we're set for another cold snap later this week, with Met Éireann forecasting another helping of the white stuff for this coming weekend, but before it gets much colder, it is about to get much windier.
Met Éireann issued the warning today, and it will be in place from 8pm tonight (Thursday, January 28) until 6am tomorrow morning.
The warning is issued to Cork and Kerry, and states that "westerly winds will increase 50 to 65 km/hr with gusts to around 100 km/hr."
They've also issued a status yellow gale marine warning, stating that "Westerly winds will increase to gale or strong gale force this evening and tonight on Irish coastal waters from Wicklow Head to Mizen Head to Erris Head and on the south Irish Sea."
So basically stay indoors as much as you can, because you'll either get blown about the place, and potentially snowed on.
