Two counties in particular are expected to get the worst of the rain.
Met Éireann have issued a weather advisory for all of Ireland for the entire weekend.
As the advisory states:
"Very unsettled weather this weekend with wet and windy conditions bringing a risk of localised flooding. Cold also, with wintry falls of snow and icy conditions."
The advisory is in place from 10pm tonight (Friday, January 29) to 11.59pm on Sunday night.
Additionally, a status yellow rainfall warning has also been issued to Wicklow and Wexford, and will be in effect from 3am on Saturday morning until 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
The rain warning states the following:
"Heavy rain, turning wintry at times. Rainfall accumulations of up to 30 to 40mm, with a risk of localised flooding."
There are also gale marine warnings in place for today and tomorrow, with winds up to gale force 8 expected over the weekend, especially at Valentia, Loop Head, Howth Head, and Slyne Head.
