We had hoped our flowers and hairdos would be safe from wind and rain this Valentine's Day, but it seems we're out of luck. 

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for the whole of Ireland. 

The wind warning is in place until 8am. 

"Southerly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 60 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 100km/hr," said the forecaster.

"The strongest winds will be in coastal areas."

This morning is also set to be wet, although it will become drier and brighter later on. 

Temperatures will be mild during the day but turn cold tonight, dropping as low as O degrees. 

If you had planned a romantic walk with your other half, you might wanna reschedule...
