McDonald's has revealed when they will be reopening for walk-in takeaway service.
Following the governments
Level 5 lockdown announcement, the beloved restaurant chain closed its doors to operate a drive-through and delivery-only service ever since.
McDonald's has now confirmed it will reopen its doors for walk-in takeaway on Monday, February 22. A small number of restaurants will first trial this.
According to
RTÉ, a statement from the company reads:
"This week, a small number of our restaurants will trial reopening walk-in takeaway with these enhancements in place, with the plan to reopen the majority of restaurants for walk-in Takeaway across Ireland from Monday 22nd February.
"The wellbeing of our people, as well as our suppliers, couriers and our customers remains our top priority, and we are confident the new processes in place will further enhance our already robust safety measures."
The statement also said that McDonald's was working with a third-party safety expert advisory business to identify further safety procedures, including visors as well as face coverings for customer-facing employees.
According to RTE's report, there will also be a revised process for managing customer and courier flow in restaurants.
Government restrictions mean a dine-in service will be off the cards for some time.
