Man Shot Dead In Front Of His Son In County Down

A man has been shot dead in front of his young son in a supermarket car park in County Down, according to Breaking News. 

The incident happened shortly after 3pm yesterday.

The 35-year-old father was targeted amongst a group of shoppers, and shot several times outside of a Sainsbury's just outside of Bangor, County Down. 

The young boy remained unharmed. 

It is believed that there was a confrontation between gunman and father before four to six bullets were fired at the victim.

A source told Belfast Live at around 6.30pm yesterday evening: "Despite the best efforts of the paramedics, the victim of this brutal murder has died."

At 6:50pm yesterday evening, police issued a statement confirming the man's death. Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes stated:

“Detectives have now launched a murder investigation and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information to contact Detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 870 28/05/17.''

''Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.''
