A man has died after a crash involving a lorry occurred on the M1 early this morning, with road closures still in place.
The Irish Sun report that the man was driving a lorry and appears to have lost control, when he hit a garda observational point and jack-knifed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the accident.
Emergency services, including the gardai, ambulance, and fire brigade, attented the scene which is south of the toll plaza at Gormanston, Meath.
The road is currently closed south-bound at Junction 9 Drogheda.
Diversions are still in place and drivers are advised that they will be diverted onto the R132 and can rejoin the motorway at Junction 7 Julianstown.

His death brings the number of road fatalities in Ireland over the Bank Holiday weekend to five.
