Rocked by the news of a "midlands lockdown", enforced due to a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases being reported in the area, hospitality businesses in Offaly, Laois and Kildare have had to close their doors to the public once more.
Parker's Restaurant in Roscrea has extended the hand of friendship to other businesses who may be struggling - those in neighbouring counties Offaly, Laois and Kildare in particular, who have been forced to close amidst a localised lockdown.
Faced with growing concern over a rise in the number of cases being reported in the area, businesses have had to close their doors to the public once more. Already doing all they can to stay afloat, many entrepreneurs and restaurateurs are worried that the return to lockdown conditions will prevent them from reopening at all.
Hoping to try to alleviate some of the pressure in any way that they can, the team at Parker's Restaurant in Derryvale, Co Tipperary, posted a message to social media in support of fellow restaurants.
It reads:
"We would like to offer our sympathy to all businesses affected by Covid 19...in particular all businesses in our neighbouring counties Offaly, Laois and Kildare.
We are reaching out in solidarity to any restaurants in these counties and would be more than happy to buy any stock from you."
Encouraging others to follow suit and do the same, it's an incredibly kind gesture that could mean all the difference to small business owners in the area.
Customers have commended the team for the "heartwarming" words, writing that it's great to see people looking out for one another in these trying times.
