Ireland will get the last of the sunshine today with temperatures reaching highs of up to 27 degrees before 'much cooler and blustery' conditions arrive.
Irish people love to talk about the weather and fun as it is to discuss the rain, it's all the more fun to discuss the sunshine. But you better enjoy the good weather while it lasts because it seems that 'changeable' conditions are on the way with cloud and rain forecast from Tuesday morning until Thursday morning.
According to Met Éireann, today will start dry and mostly sunny however patchy rain in the northwest will bring showers in the evening. Temperatures are expected to be "very high" once again today reaching up between 22 to 27 degrees in areas of Leinster and Munster and 15 to 20 degrees in the north and west of the country.
Showery rain is expected to continue overnight, spreading southeast across the country, with the "slight chance" of some heavier bursts of rain. Tomorrow will bring much cooler weather with blustery and cloudy conditions predicted as well as showers and strong northerly breezes.
"As the airflow over Ireland switches to the north a much cooler and blustery second half of the week is in store. While rain chances will increase, significant rainfall is not expected through the period."
The Irish National Meteorological Service also released details of the maximum temperatures for the June bank holiday, noting the hottest temperature was in County Mayo where it reached 27.1 degrees. Galway Roscommon, Clare, Tipperary, Sligo, Westmeath, Carlow and Cavan also made the list with temperatures ranging between 24.2 degrees and 26.6 degrees.

Thursday will be mostly dry with some sunshine early on, however, clouds are expected to come in bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
