Kodaline guitarist Mark Prendergast has confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19.
The band member joined Eoghan McDermott and Doireann Garrihy on 2FM to tell them about his experience. He said:
"About 10 days ago I felt this very, very dry cough. I was in my parents' house.
"It was quite obvious it was a new cough. It was very, very, very dry... I'd never had a cough like it before... I was a little bit panicked. I just got up and left.
"Maybe three, four days later I got a fever that lasted for four or five days. Overall my experience wasn't as bad as it can get. So I'm kind of lucky.
"I didn't give them a hug, just got up and left. I went home," he said of leaving his parents' home."

The musician explained that he believes he caught the virus travelling through Heathrow Airport.
He said: "I haven't seen my dad since March 12. Nobody in my circle has shown symptoms yet... It's a horrible waiting game really to see if people around you are sick."

Claire Byrne confirmed that she has tested positive for Covid-19 after RTÉ announced at the weekend that a member of staff had contracted the virus.
She said: "I am well now and through the peak of the condition and I want to thank everyone who has been in touch with me to express support and in particular, those in RTE who spent their weekend dealing with issues that arose as a result of my diagnosis."
