Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last few days, you'll have head that Kevin Myers has been courting controversy yet again with his latest Sunday Times column.
The article, printed under the headline 'Sorry ladies, equal pay has to be earned', has been branded anti-Semetic and misogynistic - resulting in the end of his employment with the publication.
Now, Myers has spoken out on the column, telling RTÉ Radio One that it was "stupid" to deal with "such a complex issue in a single sentence" but denied that he was misogynist.
"It's not misogynistic, I am a critic of political feminism but I'm not a misogynist... it's a simple way of labelling someone so that you don't have to listen to what they have to say."
"I do believe men and women behave very differently and men are driven by ambition and urges that women won't don't have generally speaking. I don't believe in equality, I'm not asking questions, you're asking questions."
He also conceded that his journalism career could now be over.
"I'm not sure there's any redemption for me now."
