It's set to be a scorcher, lads. Met Éireann predicts that Thursday is to be the hottest day of the year, with temperatures expected to reach up to 25C in parts of the country. While Wednesday will also see temperatures climb towards the mid-20s. Met Éireann describes Wednesday's weather forecast as " dry in most areas, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Cloudy in the north and northwest, with rain and drizzle. Warm, with maximum temperatures of 19 to 23 or 24 Celsius, but 14 to 16 degrees in northern coastal areas. Winds mostly light to moderate, south to southeast. Dry overnight, with lows of 9 to 11 Celsius, Mist and fog patches likely in slack winds." Meanwhile, Thursday is said to be "very warm and dry, with sunny intervals. Maximum temperatures 20 to 24 or 25 Celsius, but a little cooler on exposed eastern and southern coasts, in moderate south to southeast breezes. Dry in most areas overnight, but some rain and drizzle will develop in Connacht and west Munster." Friday's weather will see "Many areas dry, with bright spells, but rain will develop in Connacht and west Munster later, with the possibility of some heavy, thundery bursts. Warm, with maximum temperatures of 17 to 23 Celsius, coolest in southern and eastern coastal areas. Breezy, in moderate south to southeast winds, fresh to strong on Atlantic and eastern coasts." And it's looking likely that the good weather will continue into the weekend, as Met Éireann is predicting " a good deal of dry weather overall, but with some patchy rain or drizzle at times."
