Ireland’s Dominance Continues As FOUR Of Our Players Voted As Best Of The 2018 Six Nations

We came, we saw, we conquered.

It was looking ropey in the very first game of the Six Nations in Paris but Johnny Sexton's drop goal set us on our way to our third ever Grand Slam as we generally made light work of all our subsequent opposition.

The contribution of Irleand's players to this year's tournament has now been recognised by an official public vote led by sponsors NatWest. Taking home the prize for best player of the tournament was wonderkid Jacob Stockdale who bagged a record seven tries throughout Ireland's glorious campaign.

And the winner is...!!

The Ulsterman finished with 32% of the votes ahead of his teammates Conor Murray (18.2%), Johnny Sexton (18%) and Keith Earls (14.5%) making it a clean sweep for Irish players in the top four. Making up the top six were Italy's Matteo Minozzi (13.2%) and Guilhelm Guirado of France (4.1%).

Stockdale is the first Irish player to win the prize since Paul O'Connell in 2015 and given that he's still only 21, the sky's the limit for the young winger. Roll on World Cup 2019.
