‘Rough days ahead’ – Weather expert warns ‘red level’ winds could hit Ireland tomorrow

An Irish weather expert has said we can expect “a rough two days ahead” with potential orange and red level winds in parts. Taking to Twitter to share the warning, Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather wrote:"Latest high resolution charts for next 36 hours and you can see the heavy rain push in today. However you can also see the nasty showers forecast for tomorrow along with very strong gusts. Keep an eye on updates for tomorrow!"He added:
"Latest Met Éireann HARMONIE ensembles show over 40mm of rain possible in parts off the Southwest in 24 hrs from 11am today. They also show a risk of Orange to Red level winds in the Southwest tomorrow morning. A rough 2 days ahead!"https://twitter.com/CarlowWeather/status/1645666574714413056?s=20 The warning comes as Met Éireann has issued Status Yellow - Wind warnings for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Waterford. The warning will come into effect at 3pm today and remain in place until 9pm this evening. Met Éireann have forecast "Strong southerly winds, veering westerly", as well as "very strong gusts for a short time this afternoon and evening, causing some disruption".
