If there's one thing we love about IKEA, it's how affordable, yet trendy, their furniture is.
And it looks like IKEA lovers could be in luck, as they're currently testing out a brand new plan that anyone who has ever bought a piece of furniture, and gotten rid of it out after only a few uses will love.
IKEA's chief executive Jesper Broden discussed the company's new plan to test out a furniture rental programme, and with so many people renting temporarily, this could be a solution to lugging boxes of furniture around on moving day.
The Telegraph reported that he said: "Why should you own a carpet, maybe you could just rent it."
"If the manufacturer can use your carpet as an input, then you could rent the carpet, you don't need to buy any carpet again for the rest of your life, just rent it."
Broden added that with this kind of renting system "you build in an economic incentive, you build in a consciousness with consumers that they don't have to own it, but own this collectively in the world and recycle it."
This sounds like it would be ideal for anyone on the move, who didn't want to buy a load of new furniture that they would eventually have to sell, and we're hoping this programme eventually comes into practice!
