Ibrahim Halawa’s Verdict Has Been Postponed For Another Three Weeks

Ibrahim Halawa looks set to spend at least another three weeks in an Egyptian prison after his trial was postponed yet again today.

The Dublin man has been due to receive a verdict today, with hopes high that he would then be able to return to Ireland.

However, it has been confirmed this afternoon that the hearing has now been postponed for three weeks and will take place on 18 September.

According to Independent.ie, Leo Varadkar is due to talk to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the case this evening. 

21-year-old Halawa has now been in jail for four years after being arrested during a protest in 2013.
