Weather Experts are saying that Hurricane Florence is expected to cause severe damage this week, bringing with it major flooding in a storm that will force over one million people in the US to move out of their homes.
The category 4 hurricane is carrying winds of up to 209km/h and it was feared that Florence could head towards Ireland.
Weather Expert, Alan O'Reilly told The Sun that although there is "three active hurricanes" over the atlantic, none of them are currently heading in the direction of Ireland. “Looking to the Atlantic then and there are currently three active Hurricanes.
“There is no risk at present to Ireland from these storms, [Hurricane] Helene may track north in the Atlantic but too far out to discuss in any detail.”
Carlow Weather added on the website that "Florence remains a Category 4 Hurricane with eyewall replacement recently. The track is becoming clearer with North Carolina the most likely landfall location."
Met Éireann say that the start of the week will be breezy with some bright spells and temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

Donald Trump said about the Hurricane:
"To the incredible citizens of North Carolina, South Carolina and the entire East Coast - the storm looks very bad!
"Please take all necessary precautions. We have already began mobilizing our assets to respond accordingly, and we are here for you!"
