Here’s Who Ireland Will Face In The Rugby World Cup

It's not taking place for another two years, but Irish rugby fans are already counting down the days until the Rugby World Cup.

The Rugby World Cup 2019 pool draws took place in Japan this morning and it looks like Ireland will face home side Japan and near neighbours Scotland in their group.

According to Independent.ie , it's the first time in the tournament's history that Ireland avoided facing the All Blacks, Australia and England in the group stages.

Joe Schmidt's side have beaten Japan in all their five Test meetings and the sides will face each other twice next month.

England won't have it as easy though. The Six Nations champs will face tough opponents France and Argentina in their pool stage. 

The reigning champs New Zealand, who are favourites to win again in 2019, are in Pool B with Italy and South Africa.

The tournament gets underway in September 2019.
