The heatwave is to last as Met Éireann give us an update on the bank holiday weather.
Have the sun cream at the ready, folks. Because the good weather isn't going anywhere any time soon.
According to Met Éireann, yesterday was the hottest day of the year with parts of the country reaching over 27C.
The
national forecaster says that today (Friday, May 29) will be "dry and mostly sunny. This evening, cloud will increase along the west coast. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees, but slightly cooler along south and east coasts with moderate to fresh southeast breezes.
"Tonight will be dry with clear spells. There'll be a bit more cloud along the west coast and perhaps a few showers. Some isolated patches of mist and fog possible. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southeast breezes."
And Saturday is looking good for us as well. Met Éireann predicts tomorrow will be "will be dry with good sunshine in most places, but cloudier in the west for a time in the morning. Warm with highest afternoon temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees generally, but a bit cooler along southern and eastern coasts with moderate southeast breezes."
Meanwhile, Sunday will be "dry and sunny in most areas, cloudier at times in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, cooler again on eastern and southern coasts. Sunday night will be dry with mostly clear spells with some mist and fog patches. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees, mildest in the northwest where it will be cloudiest."
And Monday will be "Dry and sunny generally; however, the odd light shower may potentially break out during the afternoon. Another warm day with highest temperatures of 22 to 25 degrees, in light to moderate easterly breezes. Continuing dry and clear on Monday night, with lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees in a light easterly or variable breezes."
