A brand new documentary is set to air tonight on RTÉ that dives in Greyhound racing.
It claims that in 2017, a consultancy firm was paid €115,000 to carry out a business analysis report on behalf of the Irish Greyhound Board.
The review found that 16,000 greyhounds are born every year and that 5,987 of those are killed because they fail to make qualification times or their performance declines.
They also contacted knackeries across Ireland and over half of them they would shoot the dogs. Some of them said they would do so for as little as €10.
