Just a week after we were blessed with 23-degree weather over Easter, Ireland is preparing for the
arrival of Storm Hannah tonight.
A status orange wind warning is in place for Munster while Connacht, Donegal and large parts of Leinster have been hit with a yellow warning from tonight until tomorrow morning.
In preparation for the storm's arrival, Gardaí have issued official advice to the public which asks people 'to be extra cautious as severe winds are forecast this evening.'
With gusts of 130km/h expected, the statement goes on to say that 'cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians should be aware of the danger posed by high winds as they are particularly vulnerable. Drivers of high sided vehicles should take all necessary precautions and pay attention to the warnings. '
It concludes by saying 'we ask people living near coastal, cliff and waterway areas, particularly those with children, to be extra cautious considering the gusty winds forecast.'
