13 Horrifying Memories All Irish People Have Of Taking The Leaving Cert

As tonight marks the eve of the 2017 Leaving Cert which will be giving teenagers the absolute fear up and down the country, we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane to when it was our turn.

We're sure all of you can relate to pretty much all of the following:

1. Not sleeping the night before

Because two hours sleep before the most important exam of your life is all you need. 

2. The poet you prepared for not coming up 

"They SWORE Eavan Boland would come up."

3. Running out of ink while writing

Cue panic. 

4. Zoning out for half an hour when you should have been writing

WTF just happened?

5. Seeing other people ask for more paper

"WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO ME?"

6. Someone mentioning a poet/author/theory you've never heard of just before the exam starts 

"You just made that up, right?"

7. Comparing answers afterwards and realising you were miles off

"Wait, what?"

8. Spending hours colour coding and organising your notes, then panicking cos you have no time left to actually study

I thought it was important. 

9. Forgetting your compass 

How the fuck are you going to draw a circle now?

10. Speaking Irish in your French oral and vice versa

"Je m'appelle seacht bliana déag d'aois."

11. Realising you misread the question after writing five pages

SHIT SHIT SHIT 

12. Sylvia Plath taking over your dreams 

She's all you can think about.

13. Finally, wondering "what the fuck am I doing taking honours maths?" as the exam is about to begin
