Attention Sickboys Of The World: A Date For Trainspotting 2 Has Been Released

The long awaited sequel for Trainspotting is expected in early January of next year.

Award winning director Danny Boyle, of Slumdog Millionaire, The Beach and 127 Hours fame, is back at it again.

He's calling upon the original cast of Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle to reprise the roles they first played over two decades ago in 1996.

For those of you who have never seen Trainspotting, the movie is based on Irvine Welsh's tale of four Edinburgh drug addicts.

Expect to see the original quartet of main characters, Renton, Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie, returning for the sequel, all still alive and intact (somehow!).

Boyle himself has said about it all:

I'm very happy because my only (concern) was the script would be good for two of them and not so great for the other two, and they'd feel obliged to come back, but they've all got good stuff, and it's a very interesting look at them again.
