We really should consider ourselves lucky to be positioned this high in the Northern Hemisphere – our summer days are long, although few and far between, and the skies are breathtakingly colourful.
The kicker is this: you need to get out of the city centre to really enjoy the sunset to its fullest.
Take advantage of those clear evenings – they're the perfect time to pack yourself a picnic, and head out to these various spots to relish in some natural eye candy.
Galway Bay is said to have the most gorgeous sunset views, but where exactly do you go to see them from?
Just outside of Galway city, Salthill is a serene seaside town with a long stretch of a walk along the water. The distant mountains and clear views of the bay make for an amazing spot to watch the sun go down.
On a clear night, this is THE spot in Dublin to relax and gaze out at the water.
The boats in the harbour are always a nice addition to the view, and you can even see the Howth lighthouse across the way.
Stunning.
Yes, it's Ireland's tourist trap – but only during the day. Drive out to these cliffs one evening to avoid the masses, plus you'll get an unreal view as day turns to night.
Quite the trip, I know, but 100% worth it.
Crumbling ruins, hefty rocks, a brilliant castle, and gorge light shining off of the ocean – what more could you ask for? Here's a spot in County Antrim that will actually blow your mind.
The Causeway Coast is spectacular – head out to this spot to properly enjoy it.
A spot for pure tranquility. If you ever make it down to West Cork, consider marvelling at the red and orange sky as the sun goes down.
Dursey Island is a paradise for dolphin, bird and whale watching and offers spectacular views of the Beara peninsula.
Make it a weekend adventure, sure.
Here's one of the best views of Dublin City – it's colourful and eclectic. Walk out to The Great South Wall for a look at the water, with Dun Laoghaire on your right, and Howth on your left.
Or if you're feeling super adventurous, and it's an option, hop on a ferry or small boat for the perfect view of the Liffey running through our city.

Accessible via car or Dart, you should head out one evening for a short walk with beautiful views.
Killiney Hill is an absolutely perfect spot to sit for a picnic and refreshing drink while watching the colours in the sky light up and blend together.
When it comes to show-stopping sunsets, this beach town can hold its own. Spend the evening here watching the surfers glide through the water as the sun goes down under sandy beaches and high tide.
Dusk may just be the best time of day.
If you haven't walked the Wicklow Way, it's time to make moves because the view is picture-perfect.

Here's a brilliant sea-view, 16th-century tower house that overlooks Doolin Point.
Imagine overlooking both the Aran Islands and Galway Bay at twilight. The dream.
Running from Cavan to Limerick, this charming river is the longest in Ireland. Get out there on a kayak for the day, at any point, and try to catch a glimpse of the sunset on the water.
Now that's a weekend at peace.
