After a long spell of gorgeous weather, we've had a little bit of respite from the sweltering temperatures in recent days.
However, with the
5km limit set to extend to 20km on Monday, a bit of sunshine and high temperatures for the month of June wouldn't go astray. Things seem to be looking up in that department, according to Donegal Weather Channel anyway.
Taking to Facebook last night, the experts said 'It's a long way off yet, around 10 days but tonights 12Z ECMWF model run is showing a very warm continental airmass from around the 13th of June.' In other words, a decent spell of good weather is set to arrive next Saturday.
The post goes on to say: ''It would be similar to what we have seen last week but as we head into June and July any spells of warm and sunny weather like last week could persist as a heatwave with temperatures into the high 20s or low 30s.'
Sounds very promising indeed for the end of June and beginning of July. It is, of course, hard to say for sure and DWC qualifies this by adding 'it's only one model run but it has been a trend since around St Patrick's week with high pressure building followed by a
brief unsettled period and then with high pressure building again. It's one I will keep an eye on and update on over the coming days If there are any changes. But as I said it's not certain'
