No sooner do we hear some good news about certain aspects of society opening back up, are our spirits dampened by the onset of some inclement Bank Holiday weather.
Key dates for the reopening of society in the summer are being trashed out today and while an "outdoor summer" awaits, we may have to bide our time for some decent weather.
Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather has posted to say that 'Latest GFS charts for Sunday night and Monday morning aren’t pretty! A risk of some wet and windy weather start Bank Holiday Monday.' He added later that there will be some 'nasty showers' throughout Thursday, some of which may have arrived in your area by the time you read this.

As for Met Éireann, they're saying that Bank Holiday Monday will be a 'a wet and windy day' with persistent and heavy showers becoming widespread. It seem your best bet is to enjoy some outdoor activity as early in the long weekend as you can. A full outlook can be found
