Ireland could get close to a 'record high temperature for May' tomorrow, according to Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather.
People are already expecting Thursday to be the
hottest day of 2020 so far and Met Éireann is certainly backing that up by saying: 'Thursday will be dry and very warm in many areas with good sunshine in afternoon temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees, higher in parts of the west and southwest.'
As if we weren't excited enough, Carlow Weather has now stated that some parts of the country could get close to record temperatures for this time of year. Posting on Twitter, the expert said: 'The record high temperature for May in Ireland is 28.4c which was recorded in Kerry on the 31st of May 1997. We could get close to that in isolated areas tomorrow! One to watch closely.'

People are still being encouraged to remain 5km from home to combat the spread of coronavirus but anyone who has a decent place to sit in the sun nearby will no doubt be delighted. As long as they're in a group of maximum four people, of course.
