Ed Sheeran has announced that he and Cherry Seaborn welcomed a new baby girl into the world last week.
Taking to Instagram for the first time since December 2019, Ed Sheeran shared a picture of a pair of frankly adorable-looking socks along with a message for his 31 million followers on the platform.
He writes: 'Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you... Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter.'
He goes onto reveal that the couple's daughter have been named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran and adds 'we are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.'

Ed and Cherry are known for keeping details of their relationship private and they were married in a ceremony at his Suffolk estate last year. The singer's post has been inundated with well wishes since it was posted this morning and the support is bound to be appreciated during the busy months and years ahead.
As is customary in this day and age, Ed revealed the news of the birth privately to Jedward in a message which the Irish twins shared on Twitter...
