Dublin Airport and airlines issue update for passengers during cold spell

Some flights to London Heathrow and other UK airports have been cancelled due to ongoing adverse weather conditions.

Aer Lingus, Ryanair and Dublin Airport have advised passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport as snow, ice and freezing fog continue to affect travel. While Dublin Airport is said to be 'fully operational' today, they have advised that a small number of flights have been cancelled while some have been delayed "mainly due to weather disruption at UK airports". In an update to passengers, Aer Lingus wrote:

While we plan to operate the majority of flights as scheduled today we are experiencing challenges with our London Heathrow operation due to freezing fog conditions there.  We continue to monitor the weather conditions and wish to reassure customers that our teams are doing all they can to minimise any disruption to their travel plans.

In an update on Twitter, Gatwick Airport said that while the airport was now reopened, ' freezing weather is causing some delays and cancelations'. https://twitter.com/Gatwick_Airport/status/1602244538046758913?s=20&t=marrUKw6jwGl41DlwOD4yg Stansted Airport has also now reopened but has issued similar advice, writing:

London Stansted Airport remains fully open and operational, however, the continued cold weather may still impact your journey. Passengers should contact their airline for flight information.
