After a difficult period for hospitality, Old Stone in Donegal decided to take some leave.
January is often a strange time, even in the best of years. Ireland, as with the rest of the world, is in the middle of its 4th (who knows at this point) coronavirus surge in just under two years, and while hospitality is open under strict rules, the current climate hasn't made things easy. Left and right, restaurants and bars have had to shut due to staff shortages, as people either contract coronavirus, or are named as close contacts and enter a period of restricting movements.
Old Stone in Donegal took to Instagram to announce their temporary closure. This spot in Donegal town is known for its cosy atmosphere and their fabulous brunch menu.

Their
announcement read as follows:
"We want to give our hard working staff a short holiday after a long season and have time to recharge for 2022. Thank you for your understanding and hope to see you back after we open."
Normally Old Stone open six days a week, closing on Sundays. They hope to reopen on the 17th January, so not too long before loyal customers can return.
