A Garda who was trying to carry out a late-night inspection on a Cork pub says he heard "loud shushing" coming from inside the locked premises. The ‘shushing’ apparently started when he tried to gain entry at around 1am but he was left standing out on the street. Echo Live reports that Patricia O’Leary, who owns the Cork Arms on MacCurtain Street, pleaded guilty to failing to admit a member of An Garda Síochána after they demanded entry. Sergeant John Kelleher reported, “He could hear persons inside the premises shushing other patrons. Garda Stafford loudly identified himself as a member of An Garda Síochána but was not permitted entry.” The owner insisted she didn’t hear anything outside at the time but was later handed a fine. Kelleher added that his colleague “could clearly hear persons inside the premises shushing other patrons”. READ NEXT: Craicpack Launches Hangover Box To Send To Your Loved Ones Abroad
