Not a carriage fit for a king, apparently.

Gardaí in West Cork stopped a car over the weekend after seeing that the mattress placed on its roof was being 'secured' by the drivers right hand. In a post on the Garda Síochána Southern Region Facebook page, they wrote:
"Multitasking" and yes the driver is holding the plastic of a mattress while driving.
Earlier today Cork West Road Policing Unit stopped this car where a mattress was placed on the roof "secured" by the drivers right hand.
As you'd imagine, the comments under the post are a fairly even split of people commending the Gardaí for stopping the vehicle and others taking the "Tip away handy, twill be grand" approach.
One person wrote: "And he wore no gloves!!! & it baltic ? Hope he didn't have to sign the fine!!!"
Another said: "I know the brochure said sleep under the stars and all.... but still, worst AirBnB ever!"
The car was stopped as motorists have been advised to take extra caution on the roads as snow, ice and freezing fog continue to affect travel conditions.
