Have you ever discovered that you are a distant relative of someone you've known for a while? Well, I bet it wasn't as shocking as the revelation that Conor McGregor and Kim Kardashian are somehow related.

Apparently, the two celebs are both descendants of Scottish royalty.
So, Kim's mam Kris Jenner has connections to folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor, who was a massive figure and member of one of Scotland's oldest clans and died in 1734.
According to Scottish journalist Craig Williams, the American socialite even has links to the first King of Scots Kenneth MacAlpin.
Meanwhile, Conor McGregor hails from an Irish branch of the MacGregors. He previously spoke about it in an interview, saying, "My family originated from the Scottish highlands, they fought for their independence.
"It's something that is in me, it is something that my ancestors have done before me and I am simply carrying my family's name with pride.
"It's something that runs in my family's history, I've become obsessed with that a little bit.
"It reiterates to me that I am on the correct path my family was on before me."
McGregor celebrated the news on social media, writing on Twitter, "Welcome to the family."
