Conor McGregor Has Been Bizarrely Compared To Serial Killer Charles Manson

The New York State Athletic Commission's executive director Kim Sumbler has compared Conor McGregor's recent UFC incident in the same sentence as American cult serial killer Charles Manson. 

Following on from last week's incident in Brooklyn, in which Conor McGregor was filmed throwing barricades at the UFC event in New York after being stripped of his Lightweight title, he was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief following an attack carrying several UFC fighters.

Sumbler made the seemingly bizarre statement when speaking to reporters on whether Conor will be allowed to fight in New York again. 

“(McGregor) would have to apply for a license first,” Sumbler told told MMA Junkie backstage at Barclays Center, which hosts Saturday’s UFC 223. “I can’t speculate.

“It’s like asking me if Charles Manson got released from jail, what would you do? I’m not presented with that case yet. I have too many other things to think about."
