CONFIRMED: Johnny Sexton OUT Of Ireland’s Six Nations Opener

Out-half Johnny Sexton is set to miss Ireland's Six Nations opener against Scotland on Saturday after his calf tightened in training yesterday.

According to Neil O'Riordan of the Irish Sun, the 31-year-old didn't train today as a result. Sexton has been the subject of weeks of speculation regarding his fitness and it now appears the game in Edinburgh will come too soon.

Ian Keatley, Paddy Jackson or Rory Scannell could be in line to replace Sexton. If Scannell is selected it would be his first full international appearance.

The IRFU have since confirmed the news on social media.
