Irish business Folkster has made a number of changes to their bridesmaids fitting policy, the most notable being that customers will now be required to pay a deposit ahead of time. Forced to do so after a number of no show bookings, a statement released online reads:
"He folks - we are sad to have to do this but due to no-show appointments again over the weekend, we are introducing a deposit booking scheme for our bridesmaids appointments.
As a small business working hard to get all of our team back, we base our rota on pre-booked confirmed appointments. Budgets are tight at the moment, especially as we've had to reduce the amount of customers in sore too - so as you can imagine - every filled appointment counts.
Without wanting to sound negative: we have to be honest. Over the weekend, a number of bridesmaid parties who had confirmed, simply did not show up. We have long waiting lists for these slots, but without even an hour's notice - we couldn't get those waiting customers in to replace the cancellations."
Adding that it's "really hard to cope with these no-shows", the team acknowledged that they are not the only businesses to suffer on this front as a number of restaurants have also been forced to do the same. Including Dublin's The Bank Bar who have said that the no shows are "
breaking" them.
