For anyone expecting an Indian Summer in Ireland this September, we've got some good news and some bad news.
While temperatures will stay relatively high for most of the week,
Met Éireann is forecasting rainy spells for pretty much every day. Here's the full outlook.
Monday
Any lingering mist and fog will soon clear this morning to leave a bright day with sunny spells. Clouding over in the west and southwest this evening with a little drizzle possible there by nightfall. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with light breezes.
Tuesday
Tomorrow, Tuesday will be a mostly cloudy day with occasional drizzle, and a few brief bright or sunny intervals. A spell of more persistent rain will develop in Atlantic coastal counties from late afternoon. Highs of 15 to 18 degrees. Light to moderate southerly breezes will increase fresh and gusty near the Atlantic Seaboard later.
Wednesday
Rather breezy, dull and damp to begin on Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent for a time, with a risk of spot flooding in places. The rain will turn lighter and patchier from the west during the afternoon, as moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds veer to a lighter west or northwest. Maximum of 15 to 18 degrees, with temperatures turning progressively cooler through the afternoon.
Thursday
A bright, fresh day with sunny spells and passing showers. Any residual rain in the east should be mostly cleared into the Irish Sea by lunchtime. Light to moderate northwest winds will back southwest by evening. Highs of 14 to 16 degrees.
Friday
Another spell of rain looks set to cross in from the Atlantic early on Friday, with an eastward clearance expected on Friday afternoon, at this stage.
