Government officials are believed to have rejected NPHET's advice, opting against a nationwide move to level 5 in favour of a nationwide move to level 3 restrictions instead.

According to reports, all counties will be subject to level three guidelines which will incur the following restrictions:
  • Only visitors from one other household
  • No social or family gatherings
  • No indoor gatherings - with the exception of weddings/funerals
  • Maximum of 25 guests at weddings
  • No matches/sporting events
  • Restrictions on indoor dining at restaurants/cafes/pubs
  • Only essential travel
  • Religious services to continue online only - maximum of 25 allowed at funerals
  • Museums/theatres/art/cultural centres closed
  • Hotel services limited to residents only
  • Gyms open for individual use only, no classes permitted
  • Retail and beauty services to remain open.
Government is expected to announce the new measures at a press conference from government buildings this evening. More to follow.
