BREAKING: An Orange Weather Warning Has Been Issued For Several Counties

The weather alert for Saturday has just been upgraded to an 'orange warning' by Met Éireann.

An orange alert has also been issued for Wexford, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford also with the risk of coastal flooding.

Met Eireann has issued an update to the public and said that winds of up to 130km/h are expected to hit the West and South of Ireland from Saturday morning.

A wind warning has been issued for Galway and Mayo with northwest winds expected to reach between 65-80km/h with gusts of 110-130km/h in the coastal parts of Connacht.

There is also risk of coastal flooding as Storm Brian heads eastwards across the central and Southern areas of Ireland.

The warning is valid from Saturday at 6am until 6pm.

The warning for those counties are valid from Saturday at midnight until midday.

Meanwhile Met Éireann has predicted that Storm Brian is to develop into a "weather bomb" in the next 24 hours.
