If you're a Bank of Ireland customer, and you were planning on spending away the Monday Blues this afternoon, you may need to seek out a Plan B.
There's an issue with the bank's Visa debit cards, and it's left customers across the country unable to make transactions in shops – or withdraw cash from ATMs.
Actually trapped at @goapplegreen Coz @bankofireland card doesn't work and have no other way of paying. This is scary. @talktoBOI

@talktoBOI My card keeps being rejected when I'm going to pay for items - there is definitely money in my account. Any answers as to why?

Can you let customers know when services resume. It's a very annoying problem

We're aware of some technical difficulties with visa debit cards. Please be assured we're looking into it, sorry for any inconvenience.
