It's been a bitterly cold start to the week and it seems the Irish weather is going to throw some rain into the mix just to keep us on our toes.
From Thursday until Sunday, it's looking like it might be handy to have your umbrella with you if you're heading out and about. According to Met Éireann, it will all start on Thursday morning with patchy rain and drizzle before blustery winds, which could turn into gales on the north coast, take hold in the afternoon.
Friday won't be any better as 'rain will clear eastwards' along with 'southwest winds which will become strong in the evening and night near west and north coasts.'
Saturday will be a 'blustery day with highest temperatures of eight to ten degrees and fresh, gusty southwest winds, possibly strong for a time in the north.' There will be frost overnight on Saturday as well and 'rain will spread from the south overnight, falling as sleet in places.'
Yikes. Sure things can't get any worse than that? Think again.
Early indications suggest outbreaks of rain on Sunday before the respite of a 'fair amount of dry weather' on Monday. Tuesday though will be 'very cold and showery.'
