Your favourite sweet could soon be sold in the US.
Aldi has announced two major new deals which will see Irish food go overseas in over 1,000 shops around the world.
Two deals were agreed between Aldi Ireland and suppliers Broderick's Handmade Cakery and Cookie Dó, worth a total of €8.5 million.
Broderick's will continue to supply all Aldi's Irish and UK stores, but also supply 300 Aldi stores in the US with Irish treats.
Broderick's Slices will be available in the Specialbuy section, with Pouches on sale on trial in the States as well.
American shoppers can expect to see the Irish treats in stores from October.
Fans of Cookie Dó will be delighted to hear that their deal with Aldi has been extended, which will see the popular biscuits sold into 2023.
Cookie Dó has been a supplier with Aldi since entering the Grow with Aldi programme in 2021, assisting Irish suppliers to develop their brand and grow their business.
“Broderick’s has supplied our Irish stores for almost seven years now, while Cookie Dó has been a popular addition to our range since 2021," said Niall O’Connor, Aldi Ireland Group Managing Director.
"Their confectionary products have proven extremely popular with Aldi customers. We are delighted to commit €8.5m to further extend these partnerships, which will also give Broderick’s access to the US market for the first time through their listing in 300 Aldi US stores.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue welcomed the announcement, saying that “Aldi’s continued commitment to Irish suppliers is a welcome support to producers right around the country.
"With Aldi’s support, Irish producers have an opportunity to grow their businesses, create employment, supporting economic activity across Ireland."
