Footage Shows Irish Flight’s Plane Was Blown Off Runway By Crosswind Report Finds

An air accident report has found that an Irish Aer Lingus flight was blown off a runway by a crosswind as it landed.

The plane was an ATR 42-300 and had a registration of EI-CBK, and was heading from Dublin to Donegal airport.

There was 17 passengers and three crew onboard at the time of the attempted landing.

The plane was put-off course by a strong wind before the pilot eventually steered the plane back and landed safely.

The report by the Air Accident Investigation Unit said that: "During the landing roll, after the aircraft had touched down on the runway, it veered to the left nd departed the tarmac surface onto the grass adjacent to the runway.

"The pilot steered the aircraft back onto the runway and came to a halt.

"There was no injuries reported to the investigation and the aircraft was undamaged."

"The co-pilot was of the opinion that the aircraft experienced a gust during the transition from high speed roll-out to low-speed roll-out which caused the aircraft to veer to the left."
