AA Roadwatch has issued a warning to drivers in parts of the west, North West and midlands this morning. 

The roads are slippery due to snow, ice and sleet and stopping distances are ten times longer as a result. 

Gardai are advising extreme care as they deal with a number of crashes on the M6. 

The M7 is also particularly dangerous following snow and sleet showers.
