A group of volunteers is making face masks for nursing homes in Ireland.
A Facebook group called '
COVID-19 CLOTH FACE MASKS FOR ALL IRELAND' was set up by Mary Murphy to tackle the shortage of personal protective equipment and it has gained over 3,000 followers in the last month.
They are self-described as a crowdsourced group of voluntary sewists making the best possible reusable cotton face masks.
The goal of the group is to provide one mask to each and every person in nursing homes across Ireland, whether they are a worker or a resident.
So far they have 500 sewists and have made over 7,000 masks for free so far.
