€4,000 Reward Offered For Information On Men Dancing With Dead Dolphin In Cork

Animal activists have offered up a €4,000 reward to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the men filmed dancing at a student party in Cork with a dead dolphin.

The shocking images circulated online over the weekend, and it is understood that the dolphin was brought to a party in Parchment Square student accommodation which is close to the Cork Institute of Technology.

The dolphin was also thrown out of a window during the party, and the carcass was later found by an employee.

Captain Paul Watson of The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society originally offered €2,000 for information on the men's identities, and the reward has now been raised to €4,000.

He is hoping that someone will turn in identifiable photos that will assist with the arrest and conviction of  the "Harbor Porpoise Snatchers."

While some people online are saying the men broke no laws, Watson said on 96FM’s Opinion Line with PJ Coogan that:

“Well, first of all it’s a crime. Anyone who hurts or possesses protected marine wildlife is in violation of the law. They should not have touched it or moved it. ”
