30,000 People In Ireland’s North East Still Without Water

It's being reported that approximately 30,000 households in the North East of the State are waking up without water for the fourth day in a row. 

According to the Irish Times, Irish Water has mentioned that three attempts to fix a ruptured water main that supplies the Staleen Water Treatment Plant in Drogheda have now failed.

The company has now warned locals that it will now have to build another "bespoke" solution "from scratch'' to aid a long-term solution - meaning that residents could go even further without water in their homes. 

A temporary rotating rationing system had been put in place – with the supply has now completely shut off in order to prioritise Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Temporary water stations have been set up to provide water from 10am each day. These are located at:

• Moneymore
• Termonabbey
• Marleys Lane
• Stameen on the Dublin Road
• Bothar Brugha or Hardmans Gardens
• Ballsgrove shops
• Shop St North Quay
• Duleek - at the church
• Lagavoreen at entrance to the estate
• Donore village at the church
• Ashbourne at Race Hill
• Stamullen on the Bellewstown road outside the housing estate
• Kenstown outside the Londis in the car park
• Ardcath at the church
• Ratoath at St Paul’s School and at Ratoath National School, Fairyhouse Road

This water, however, must be boiled before use.
