Sweet reason behind babies’ first word often being ‘dada’ has been revealed

Your baby's first word is usually something like 'hi' or 'bye bye'. Some will say 'mama' but most babies will say 'dada' first, which is always a little disappointing when you're the mum. However, there's a sweet reason why babies tend to say 'dada' before 'mama'. Babies who feel connected and bonded with their mums usually don't address them because they know that she is always around. Isn't that adorable? We may feel a little fed up when they fail to say 'mama' but this has made us feel slightly better. We are not an afterthought when it comes to our babies, it might actually mean we've made them feel so safe and secure around us, they don't need to call for us. According to the website Parents, most infants will say their first word when they are around 12 months old. Common first words include 'hi', 'bye-bye', 'dog', 'juice', 'milk' or 'mama' and 'dada'. Most babies will start talking more around the 19 to the 24-month mark. Experts say most children experience a "language explosion" once they turn 19 months old.
